Dear Departed hosted at HIT – House of International Theatre in CPH

From  September 29th until October 11th on 2017,
HIT’s season premiere “NO EXIT – RELOADED” will host
Cari Estinti / Dear Departed

Dear Departed, our interactive art installation created in 2011 and hosted by various festivals and cultural events, makes its Danish debut at premiere of  No Exit-Reloaded by HIT, House of International Theatre, on the 4th floor of Huset-KBH Stage.

Audience members at  premiere, will be invited to interact by consenting photographer Penny Diamantopolous to take a picture, a single portrait with the addition of a personal written message. These portraits will then form part of the Dear Departed Wall exhibition, on display in the foyer until October 11th.

Inspired by Marion Peck’s art exhibition The Dearly Departed and book Cari Estinti, it savors and develops Peck’s spirit by cherishing and preserving a sweet image combined with darkness of theme. A sparkling stand opposed to the carelessness of our time.

Portraits of perceived endings.
An invitation to publicly celebrate someone or something that in your opinion is missing or close to extinction. Captured in a photo.

“What (do you think) is now extinct? Answer with a picture.
The subtext for the participant is personal (and therefore precious).
A public/private declaration. We like oxymorons”

Our art installment will complete the evening by capturing HIT’s audience actively participating and will also showcase portraits from previous exhibitions.
